This is a great activity to reinforce addition and subtraction practise.
Students can flip either two or three playing cards and add them together. There is space for students to make the sum using concrete materials and write the number sentence using words or symbols.
It is important that students understand that subtraction number sentences need to begin with the larger number and flipping random cards can reinforce this.
